Lectio Divina

St. Ignatius is closely affiliated with a group of practices called Lectio Divina.  This is Latin for ‘Divine Reading.’

Many of these practices help the practitioner to tune into particularly phrases from a reading.

Once these phrases are tuned into, they are often meditated over in the manner of a breath prayer.  As a result, after you give these practices a try, you might try to add a little variety by using the first several steps of these practices, but once you have found your sacred phrase, you might click here and engage with that phrase in a different manner.
